
The Governor’s Awards for the Arts and Humanities are presented by the Office of the Governor in partnership with Georgia Council for the Arts and Georgia Humanities to recognize Georgians who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to work in these fields. The awards honor outstanding individuals and organizations that have made contributions to the civic or cultural vitality of the state. The arts and humanities play a vital role in the state's economy and contribute to education, innovation, growth, and a higher quality of life. Recipients are awarded this honor following a competitive selection process with nominations submitted from across the state.
